The JJT Park was commissioned on December 13, 2017, by former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, and the facility is managed by the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK). The park was custom-built to immortalise three legendary former governors of Lagos State: Brigadier Mobolaji Johnson (Rtd.), Alhaji Lateef Jakande, and Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
